Many of us as developers design programs to be easy to use in an office environment using tools like Visual Studio to design the forms and reports etc. In doing so we use the Mouse to draw our designs.
Yesterday Douglas Engelbar the inventor of the Mouse died at the age of 88. As an inventor like many others he made very little from the device (the patent ran out before it could find a wide use) which by now has been sold in the billions. Just 1 cent from the sale of each Mouse would have made him a multi-millionaire. He was however honoured in later life for his achievements.
Still many of us owe our careers to this little piece of hardware and therefore Douglas Engelbar.
