Farewell Robin Jones

Robin Jones our Education and Professionalism Director has retired after many years of service to the Institution. He joined the IAP in 1997 and has progressed steadily through the ranks of the IAP becoming a Fellow a few years later. Mike Ryan (Emeritus Director General) pursueded Robin to become the Institutions Education Officer and from there Robin has made his mark. Robin worked with many of our university partners (if not all) and has edited IAPetus, the IAP’s pages in Visual Systems Journal, Software Development Practice and the current web site. In addition Robin has persuaded many a speaker to present at the Symposiums over the year, including this years Symposium at Kew. Robin chairs the current Membership Committee and will continue in that role for the time being. Robin is also one of our LinkedIn group managers and will keep his toe in this for a little while longer. On Tuesday 19th September, David Morgan (President) and John Ellis (Operations Director) at a small reception presented Robin with a gift from the Institution (an engraved glass bowl). In addition; as recognition for his long service and guidance the Council made Robin a Companion of the Institution and gave him life membership.
